To work and to do handicrafts lies with us probably in the family – all the same whether small, large, young or old. Best example: My grandfather, who invented a special kind of stars from mandarin shells at the age of 90 and showed it to us. Now we often sit together, eat mandarins and use the bowl to make grandpa’s pretty tree pendants.

The great thing: For the stars you only need a sharp knife and something to press the finished specimens – a flower press, alternatively it works with two pieces of cardboard or paper, placed between thick books. You can see exactly how we make the mandarin stars in a video tutorial that you can find on my Instagram account here.
